36 Cancer and Money

One of the concerns of people diagnosed with cancer is that they have problems getting enough money for medicines and maintaining family expenses. Although this is also a common problem among healthy people, I would like to give some advice to people with cancer.

I have written before that with cancer it is important to believe in God or a higher being. That being is where to go in any crisis of life. We can ask God for help for any problem we have. And one of these problems is money. We seek help in the Word of God that is in the Bible. I know the advice I will give is from a Catholic Bible, but I’m sure it will benefit any believer.

Here are the phrases that will help you:

1.- “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and ALL these things will be given to you as well, therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. EACH day has enough trouble of its own.” Mathew 6: 33 – 34

2. – “Rejoice in the Lord always; I will say it again, rejoice. Do not be anxious about ANYTHING but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving presents your request to God, and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 4 – 7

3. – “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in ANY and EVERY situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want.” Philippians 4: 11 – 12

4. – “Jehovah is my shepherd; NOTHING shall I want.” Psalm 23:1

5. – “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain move from here to there, and it will be move. NOTHING shall be impossible to you.” Mathews 17: 20

I have written in capital letters the words that, in my opinion, you must meditate more. But every sentence is powerful and somehow talks about money problems. The words in each phrase that stand out are 1) all and each, 2) anything, 3) any and every, 4) nothing 5) nothing. Each of them gives a meaning where you have to put your faith and trust in God.

Do not dismiss these sentences so easily. They are pure gold that you must apply when you feel helpless in the face of cancer. I wish you the best. God bless you.
